The 65.25- acre parcels are mostly undisturbed open space, with the exception of a few small, existing structures and access roads. The Project Site consists of seven parcels (Assessor Parcel Numbers 028-170-015, 028-410-014, 028-410-015, 028-410-016, 028-410-018, 028-410-025, 028-450-033) in the town of Burney in Shasta County, California. The Project Site is bordered by California State Route 299 (SR-299) to the northwest, adjacent to Tamarack Road, and Bartel Street to the east.
Document Description
The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) proposes to place land into federal trust status for the benefit of the Pit River Tribe (Tribe). The land, known as the "Burney Property" (Project Site) is currently owned in fee by the Tribe and consists of approximately 65.25 acres in Shasta County, California. The Burney Property is intended to be used for non- gaming purposes (Proposed Action), and subsequent development by the Tribe for housing, Tribal Council chambers, offices, and meeting spaces with associated parking and infrastructure.
