Reasons for Exemption
The proposed Project will only involve replacing existing park amenities which will not negatively impact the existing characteristics of the area or the condition of land. This includes the removal of the existing wood mulch play surfaces which will be replaced by new soft-fall safety surfacing, new waste receptacles, installation of a shade sail structure and accessibility improvements. The Project will provide enhancements for public health and safety purposed within the park. No vegetation will be removed. As such, the Project will be limited the repair and maintenance of existing public facilities, with no anticipated expansion of use. The installation of the new structures will be located on the same site as those replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced.
