Document Description
The project consists of the Department of General services re-roofing 455 Golden Gate Avenue and part of the north side of 350 McAllister Street referred to as the Ronald M. George Complex as the current roof is leaking and has reached the end of its useful life. Work will remove approximately 61,710 square feet of roofing material and associated components then apply the new PMMA fluid applied roof. The replacement generally consists of the flat roofing materials that are either not visible to the public or located on the non-historic portion of the building. The only work affecting character defining features consists of repairing leaks under the historic slate roofing. The drawings indicate that the slate will be removed to perform the repairs to the substrate and then replaced with no impact to the historic nature of the building. The repairs will prevent water damage to the interior of the building.
