Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed a major amendment to Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement 1600-2015-0199-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Port of Redwood City, as represented by Don Snaman. The project is a routine maintenance project defined as periodic activities conducted which are necessary to maintain the ship berth depth of -34 feet Mean Lower Low Water plus one foot of allowable over-depth of Redwood Creek at the Port of Redwood City Berths 1 through 4. A total of three dredging events will occur within the years 2015 through 2024, with a total maximum of 150,000 cubic yards (CY) removed. Fifty thousand CY of sediment will be removed during each of the three dredging events. The dredging footprint is 5.2 acres. A closed mechanical bucket will lift and place the sediment into a closed barge. The barge will be inspected prior to dredging and will be electronically monitored for leaks during the course of the Project. The major amendment involves adding an additional dredging area (known as the “Multi-use Basin) immediately south of Berth 4.
