Document Description
2024-01: A roughly 650 linear foot hedgerow consisting of 2 rows of approximately 134 plants will be planted to enhance and support a wide variety of wildlife species. 2024-02: A roughly 2,800 linear foot windbreak consisting of two perpendicular rows each containing two staggered rows of approximately 274 total plants planted to enhance species diversity while promoting livestock use in farther reaches of pasture. 2024-03: A roughly 200 linear foot hedgerow consisting of two staggered rows of approximately 67 plants will be implemented south-southeast of a preexisting 200 LF cypress tree windbreak, with the goal of supporting habitat and forage for wildlife. 2024-04: A roughly 1,900 linear foot windbreak project containing two separate windbreak sections parallel to each other with approximately 483 total plants. Primarily consists of willow species to provide a windbreak and enhance habitat. 2024-05: A roughly 450 linear foot riparian windbreak containing approximately 142 plants and 10 pods of 5-6 trees to provide a buffer from winds, shade for livestock, and enhance wildlife habitat. Temporary fencing will be installed to protect the plants at all sites but 2024-03, where permanent fencing exists.

Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Class 33— CCR §15333 (small habitat restoration)
Reasons for Exemption
These projects qualify as small-habitat restoration projects because they are hedgerow installations targeted to enhance wildlife habitat by providing shelter and resources. These planting projects will be installed by hand, are less than five acres in size and include native plants. They will increase flora species diversity and thus expand capacity to support a wider variety of vulnerable wildlife species, including special status species, migratory birds, and pollinators. There are no hazardous materials in the project areas
