This grant will provide support to the NTFPD (Grantee) to provide funding for a three-year project that will improve the capacity for NTFPD to support fire adapted communities and restore and maintain fire resilient landscapes within district boundaries. The project would augment support for a seasonal Coordinator staff position for Fire Adapted Communities, creating a full-time position, provide improvements in transportation for defensible space inspectors, provide training to support fuels management and Fire Adapted Communities, and cover project management. This grant would also provide environmental compliance support for all aspects of planning fuels reduction and forest health projects so that priority fuels reduction projects are ready for implementation, and cover project management for this portion of the project as well.
