The proposed project consists of granting a special use permit to the UCSF Health and Transplant Services for the Chris Mudge 27th Annual Pediatric Picnic at McNears Beach Park Area #8 reservable site and approximately 150 parking spaces. The event would occur on September 7, 2024 between 11am-3pm. Set-up and take down would take approximately 3 hours before and 1 hour after the event. Approximately 250 participants are anticipated. The event would include amplified sound. This is an annual event going on its 27th year and is invitation only.

McNears Beach Park was designed with reservable space for this type of event and there is a past history of the facility being used for this purpose. There is a reasonable expectation that this event would not represent a change in the operation of the facility and that the event would not result in cumulative impacts; significant impacts on the environment due to unusual circumstances; affect the significance of historical resources. The project is not located within an officially designated scenic highway or on a hazardous waste site pursuant to Government Code Section 65962.5.
