Notice of exemption for Coastal Conservancy approval of grant funding. The project involves purchasing equipment to support Civicorps’ East Bay Wildfire Risk Reduction project, consisting of providing workforce development and removing vegetation from high fire hazard areas in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Civicorps works with several local land management agencies to remove dead, damaged, diseased, and invasive vegetation from high fire risk areas primarily using a chipper, chain saws, and pole saws. Civicorps will work to reduce fuel load in the East Bay, thereby reducing the chance of ignition and limiting the spread of wildfires.
