Document Description
Notice of exemption for Coastal Conservancy approval of grant funding. The Coastal Conservancy provided a $150,000 Coastal Stories Program grant to the Crystal Cove Conservancy to expand the interpretation of the history of the Japanese American farming community who lived and worked along Crystal Cove’s coastline in Newport Beach.
In partnership with California State Parks, The Crystal Cove Conservancy is expanding the interpretation of the history of the Japanese American farming community who lived and worked along Crystal Cove’s coastline in one of the only fully restored Japanese Language Schools on the Pacific Coast. The project developed a long-range interpretive plan addressing facilities, exhibits and programs. The project builds upon the existing Japanese Language School at the Crystal Cove Cottages to plan and install new interpretive signage and a friendship garden on the southwest side of the Japanese Language School on the bluff top at Crystal Cove State Park.
