Document Description
The Project proposes a pocket park on a vacant 9, 130-square-foot parcel located at 1107 Grevelia Street (APN 5315-011-904) in South Pasadena, Los Angeles County,
California. The entrance to the Project would be accessed from Grevelia Street and marked by a park sign and decorative bollards with lighting. The Project would feature a round plaza with a rock and succulent garden and a public art piece. Tables and seating areas would surround the plaza, which would connect to a walking path adjacent to two play areas. The first play area would consist of precast children's play equipment. The second play area would be passive and made of turf and would occupy approximately half of the southern portion of the Project Site. The southernmost portion of the Project Site would consist of the end of the walking path featuring a circular seating area surrounding a tree. In addition, the Project would include landscaping, new trees, benches, bollards with lighting, a drinking fountain, a wet waste station, and trash and recycling receptacles along the perimeter of the site.

Reasons for Exemption
The Project meets the requirements of CEQA Guidelines Section 15332 for Class 32, In-Fill Development Projects, as it meets the definition of infill development; would be consistent with the applicable General Plan designation and all applicable General Plan policies as well as with the applicable zoning designation and regulations; occurs within City limits on a Project Site of no more than 5 acres substantially surrounded by urban uses; would be located on a site that has no habitat for endangered, rare, or threatened species; would not result in any significant effects relating to traffic, noise, air quality, or water quality; and could be adequately served by all required utilities and public services. Further, none of the exceptions to the use of a categorical exemption apply to the Project. Finally, there are no features that distinguish the Project from others in the exempt class and therefore there are no unusual circumstances. Therefore, the Project is categorically exempt from CEQA pursuant to Section 15332 of the State CEQA Guidelines-Class 32, In-Fill Development Projects.
