Document Description
Install a wheelchair accessible ramp on the McConnell Residence (Residence #2) at McConnell State Recreation Area to allow for ADA access to the residence. Work will: The new construction of the ADA Wheelchair ramp will be to ADA specifications. • Raise the existing front porch to bring it flush with the interior floor level; • Excavate six (6) post holes 1-ft x 16-in. post holes; • Pour cement into holes to support 4x4 post brackets and install six (6) 4x4 posts to carry the load of the new ramp and landing; • Use the existing walkway as the footprint for the new 36-in. wide ADA compliant ramp; • Extend the front porch to accommodate the new wheelchair landing; • Install new ADA compliant handrails on the ramp that match the existing front porch rails; and • Install a nonslip surface on the ramp with anti-slip tape.
