Document Description
The drainage on the east side of the San Joaquin O&M center is eroding due to runoff from rain. A series of check damns would be installed to slow the water flow and decrease erosion. The drainage is around 800 feet long. The width and depth vary throughout the drainage, but never exceeds three feet.
The check damns would be constructed of cobblestone and river rock. Eroded areas will be repaired using mechanical equipment and/or hand tools. The following mechanical equipment could be used for this project: Vactor truck, backhoe, front-end loader, skid steer, motor grader, water truck, and dump truck. The front-end loader would only be used for loading and off-loading material.
In addition, the drainage will be excavated and filled in several locations to create a more uniform channel. Lastly, several piles of sediment and rocks adjacent to the drainage will be removed.
Work is expected to last two weeks but could last longer depending on staff availability. All work would be completed within the DWR’s right of way.
