Replace 71 wooden food lockers in campgrounds throughout Mount Diablo State Park with wildlife-resistant lockers, and replace a total of 175 trash receptacles at Benicia State Recreation Area, Benicia State Historic Park, Bethany State Recreation Area, Brannan Island State Recreation Area, Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area, Henry W. Coe State Park, and Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area, with wildlife-resistant waste bins. Work will: Remove existing food lockers and trash receptacles where necessary; With the exception of four (4) waste bins at Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area and the Rock City Area of Mount Diablo State Park, work will: Excavate a 22-inch deep by 3-inch wide hole; Insert a 3-inch by 12-inch metal post; and Backfill with concrete to secure and mount Bear Saver food lockers and trash receptacles with metal tie assembly onto pole. At Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area, bins will be installed on a cement pad. At each location work will: Pour a 58-inch x 47-inch x 4-inch-high concrete pad; Install rebar J bolts at 42-inches x 31-inches across and ½-inches deep into concrete; and Use a bolt/washer assembly to secure the food locker to the concrete pad. At Mount Diablo State Park installation of 71 food lockers will be via pole mount except for in the Rock City Area of the park. In this area, at each location work will: Drive an 18-inch-long piece of ½-inch wide rebar through a wood beam into the ground to a depth of no more than 12-inches at each of the 4 corners and mount the new food locker on top of the wood beams.
