Document Description
This project proposes to tap into an existing hydrant to in Carnegie Vehicular State Recreation area to install an irrigation riser that will provide a water source to irrigate new trees planted for the Corral Hollow Creek Riparian Restoration Project. This work
will be completed by State Parks staff, over approximately 2 days, during dry
conditions. Approximately 1-foot south of the existing fence that delineates the creek, workers will:
Use a post hole digger to excavate a 2-foot-deep x 1-foot-wide x 75-foot-long trench from the existing hydrant to the proposed new irrigation riser location;
Install approximately 75-ft of new 3-inch PVC;
Install an isolation valve in line with the new 3-inch PVC;
Attach a 3-inch tee fitting to connect the new PVC line to the hydrant;
Install 90-degree fitting and riser above ground level;
Install the irrigation riser; and
Backfill the trench with the excavated materials.
