Document Description
The project proposes to establish two (2) life jacket loaner stations at Bethany Reservoir State Recreation Area to give visitors access to life jackets which will allow for safe recreating on the water. One (1) station will be installed in-ground ramp, while the second will be a portable structure to be stored off-site at Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area. The Diablo Range District will provide the materials and labor to install the station and the life jackets and signage will be supplied by California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways free life jacket program. To install the in-ground lifejacket station, work will: Use a gas-powered auger to excavate two (2) 12-in. diameter by 2-ft deep holes into the ground; Set one (1) 4-in. x 6-in. wooden posts in each hole and backfill with excavated material to secure; and Attach the 4-ft x 8-ft sign panel and life jacket hooks.
