Document Description
Install a new rope tow ski lift within the footprint of the existing nonfunctional Rainbow Poma Lift at Johnsville Historic Ski Bowl at Plumas-Eureka State Park to provide park visitors with high-quality outdoor recreational opportunities at the Johnsville Historic Ski Bowl. The proposed project will use heavy machinery and hand crews to complete the following: • At the existing Rainbow Poma bottom anchor site, excavate and pour one 8-ft x 8-ft concrete pad at grade to serve as a new bottom terminal and anchor; • Excavate one 6 to 8-in. by approx. 3-ft deep hole; • Install a new metal tower for a return rope; • Remove the existing Tower #5 and wire and dispose of offsite; • Immediately adjacent to the Eureka Lake Road, excavate and pour one 6-ft x 6-ft concrete pad at grade to serve as a top drive and terminal anchor; • Underneath the rope tow path, excavate up to approx. 70 cubic yards of soil to create a consistent grade; and • Create new cat track into the main ski bowl.
