Document Description
The project would be to re-grade the existing overflow parking lot at Shumway Oak Grove Regional Park, install a new fence, a 16’ (or appropriately sized) gate and widen the entrance along Eight Mile Rd (If needed). Re-utilize existing lodge poles to create a functional overflow parking area with sufficient parking spaces. The lot potion shown in orange will be compacted gravel surface to accommodate the heavy forklifts used to move equipment on site. Additionally, create an entrance and egress flow pattern from Eight Mile Rd to the area designated to accommodate large equipment (semi-trucks, trailers, cranes) to safely maneuver the delivery and the removal of flood control material and equipment that will be stored on site.
The project will also include the erection of appropriate security fencing and lighting to encase the OES Logistics Base and supplies. (please see PDF) The base ground site would need to be engineered to withstand heavy equipment traffic and repair any drainage issues. The area would need to be accessible during flood activation events, which would (possibly) immediately follow periods of heavy rain.
