Document Description
The proposed project is the renewal of an existing Easement Agreement (Easement) to San Diego Gas & Electric Company (Grantee) for the continued use of approximately 1,512 square feet (sq ft) of land area located in the city of San Diego, California. The area proposed for use under this Easement is currently and would be used only and exclusively to excavate for, lay, erect, construct, build, install, modify, improve, rebuild, reconstruct, relocate, reconfigure, repair, replace, substitute, change the size of, upgrade, maintain, patrol, inspect, test, operate, use and remove underground facilities. The Agreement further grants the Grantee and its authorized agent(s) and contractor(s) the right of ingress and egress to, from, and along said easement area via practical routes across the adjacent District lands. The Grantee may be required to demolish any or all facilities, structures, installations, or improvements within thirty (30) days after the expiration of the term of the Agreement or sooner.
It is anticipated that the Easement would have a total term of approximately twenty (20) years unless sooner terminated. Grantor shall use good faith efforts to deliver written notice of the pending expiration of the Easement to Grantee not less than six (6) months prior to the Expiration Date.

Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project is determined to be Categorically Exempt pursuant to California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Section 15301 (Existing Facilities) and Section 3.a.(4) of the District’s Guidelines for Compliance with CEQA because it involves an Easement Agreement for existing electrical utility works that would involve negligible expansion of use beyond that previously existing.
