Document Description
Caltrans proposes a Minor B project to upgrade the existing Metal Beam Guard Rail (MBGR) along I-5 within the City of San Diego in San Diego County. The proposed MBGR to be upgraded is located approximately 1000 feet south of the Carmel Valley Creek Bridge to approximately 500 feet north of the Carmel Valley Road over crossing. Project work will include removing and installing new guardrail, removing and replacing the AC dikes in front of and under the MBGR, upgrading the MBGR anchor blocks, and installing MBGR connection at Carmel Valley Rd. UC Bridge. There will be ground disturbance to remove the AC dike and to replace and install the anchor blocks. There will also be some concrete work involved in the anchor block installation. All work, including site access, will occur within Caltrans Right of Way, and there will be no staging, storage, or disposal sites necessary. Environmental Commitments are contained in the ECR.
