Document Description
The 1st Street Pedestrian Improvements Project will improve mobility, walkability, and enhance the overall pedestrian experience along 1st Street from Long Beach Blvd to Elm Ave through updated landscaping and plantings, colorful concrete paving, refinished furnishings, and sidewalk widening. The addition of the Blue Line Rail Car with decking will provide a concessionaire space to serve the community. This project aims to enhance connectivity and walkability in the downtown area as well as encourage use of alternate transportation including Long Beach Transit and Metro, and will honor the paired history between Long Beach and Metro.
