Document Description
Caltrans proposes to upgrade existing and damaged guardrail on the right shoulder of the I-880 southbound lanes before the 66th Avenue Overcrossing. The project will help decrease Caltrans maintenance worker exposure to live traffic while repairing the damaged barriers since they are frequently hit at this location. The existing guardrail will be upgraded to concrete barrier with crash cushion. The project will remain within Caltrans right of way, either on or adjacent to the paved roadway. Equipment staging would be within Caltrans right of way in areas absent of vegetation. Some clearing and grubbing activities will be required for construction. Construction is proposed to start in April 2025 and be completed by May.
