Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has amended Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-LAN-23887-R5, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Southern California Edison (Permittee) as represented by Hazem Gabr.
The project is limited to the installation of two new wooden poles, 4959826E and 4959827E, the installation of one new wooden pole, 4189844E, and associated sonotubes. The sonotubes are seven-foot-long by 24-inch-diameter column molds (reinforced cardboard tubes) that will be installed and filled with soil and crushed rock to anchor each pole. Pole 4959826E would be approximately 50 feet tall, Pole 4959827E approximately 45 feet tall, and Pole 4189844E would be replaced in-kind. Once each new pole is stabilized, the crew will use two boom trucks to access the top portions of the poles and pull wire from nearby structures through the new poles. Installation of these poles will reduce wildfire risk and help maintain reliable service. This amendment changed the project description from being an initial two new pole installation project, to being limited to the single replacement of an existing 45-foot-tall wooden utility pole, Pole 4189844E, that would be removed and replaced with a 50 foot-tall pole by hand and helicopter. Changes included revisions to the temporary impacts of the project that they be reduced to approximately 0.007 acres, and 0.0001 acres of permanent impacts, of streambed habitat comprising of buckwheat scrub and mustard fields which accompany 22.5 linear feet of San Francisquito Creek.
