During suppression activities to fight the Park Fire in mid-August 2024, CAL FIRE crews constructed a dozer line on State Lands Commission School Lands parcel 072-001. Trees were knocked over and cut down within the dozer line and along a segment of road that runs through the parcel, which were then gathered into log decks along the dozer line. The Commission has executed a contract, pursuant to California Code of Regulations, title 2, section 2034 (a)(1), to sell the log decks to Sierra Pacific Industries. No other trees will be cut and/or removed.
