Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-CCA-33820-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the Diablo Community Services District (Permittee)]. The project is limited to removal of slide debris from Rimer Creek (Creek), stabilization of the bank to a 2:1 slope, and installation of a soldier pile retaining wall at a newly established top of the Creek bank. The project will stabilize approximately 80 linear feet of the Creek’s left bank. Construction is scheduled for fall when Creek flows are low. Dewatering will be necessary to excavate slide debris from the Creek channel, utilizing a gravel bag coffer dam to divert water to a dewatering pipe. An existing stacked concrete rubble wall on the upper bank of the southeastern side of the property will be removed. The flattening of the Creek bank will reduce the area of the level rear yard. The upper approximately five feet of the wall will be exposed at the top of the bank, and the wall alignment is set back on average about 20 feet from the toe of the bank. The graded portions of the bank will be seeded with native erosion control grasses and forbs and planted with native riparian trees to enhance slope stability and riparian habitat. Equipment used will include hand tools and small earth-moving machinery.
