Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Master
Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification Number 41343-R2, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, the California Department of Technology.
The project is limited to installing the Middle-Mile Broadband Network (MMBN) infrastructure along approximately 3,000 miles of the State Highway System (SHS) in Caltrans Districts 1, 2, 3, and 10 that exist in CDFW’s North Central Region. Construction of the MMBN throughout the Project Area involves the installation of the network infrastructure within 30 feet of Caltrans right-of-way (ROW) along approximately 3,000 miles of the SHS. The network will be comprised of an unknown number of network hubs (all constructed outside of streams or lakes), conduit (installed underground, on utility poles, and bridge-mounted), vaults (all installed outside of streams or lakes), and approximately 3- inch cable marker posts at approximately 500-foot intervals. An unknown number of streams and riparian habitats may be impacted.
