Document Description
The scope of the work includes a geotechnical investigation program to support the design of a new turnout connection from the Alameda County Zone 7 Water Agency (Zone 7) Cross Valley Pipeline to the District’s potable water system. Two geotechnical borings are proposed on the Kaiser property, the third geotechnical boring is proposed in the Zone 7 easement on the south of Highway 580. See attached Location Map (Exhibit 1). Each boring will be between 6 and 8 inches in diameter and 30 feet deep.

Reasons for Exemption
The DSRSD finds that the Project activities fall within the Section 15304. Minor Alterations to Land. Class 4 and Section 15306. Information Collection, Class 6 exemptions. The Project involves a limited number of minor, temporary, and localized alterations in the condition of land and vegetation for the purposes of data collection, with no removal of any healthy, mature, scenic trees and no serious or major disturbances to any environmental resources. The borings will be backfilled with cement grout upon completion. None of the exceptions set forth in Section 15300.2 of the CEQA Guidelines apply. As a result, the Project is categorically exempt from CEQA.
