Document Description
The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) approves of the Class 2 Permit Modification (Permit Modification) to revise the closure performance standards listed in the previously approved Closure Plan regarding sampling, analysis, and cleanup procedures for the mixed waste storage units which include the South Yard Facility (SYF) Batch Plant (BP) Mixed Waste Storage Area and Multi-Purpose Handling Facility (MPHF) for the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) facility located at 5000 Old Pacific Coast Highway, San Clemente, CA 92672. SONGS is currently in the process of decommissioning the MPHF, which began in June of 2023. The Permit Modification does not include any physical changes, changes in operations, additional construction, or ground disturbing activities.
