Document Description
Application made by 26SB 8ME LLC requesting the Board of Supervisors’ consent to the assignment from 59TC 8ME LLC to 26SB 8ME LLC of Co-Tenancy interest in the shared use of the Transmission System, which assignment also required the consent of 50LW 8ME LLC as the existing Co-Tenant. The second amendment allows for the addition of 26SB 8ME LLC as a second Co-Tenant and clarifies that 3 solar projects, 59TC 8ME LLC, 50LW 8ME LLC and 26SB 8ME LLC, will share the one Transmission System covered under Franchise Ordinance F-668. Project contemplated in this non-exclusive franchise were described and analyzed as part of the Bellefield Solar Project. The Environmental Impact Report (“EIR”) for the Bellefield Solar Project encompasses several phases which includes the 26SB 8ME LLC solar project. The EIR was prepared by Kern County’s Planning and Natural Resources Department and certified by the Board of Supervisors on September 23, 2021, and approved as being compliant with the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”). In connection with the previously approved Bellefield Solar Project, Franchise Ordinance F-668 was granted to 59TC 8ME LLC for a non-exclusive franchise to construct, install, maintain, operate, repair, renew and remove a transmission system and fiber optic cables for transmitting electrical power.
