Document Description
The purpose of the project is to demolish the existing dock, remove all existing piles, install new piles and dock, retain and reuse landing apparatus and gangway and reconnect to existing utilities. Demolition activities will remove creosote-treated piles from the marine environment to provide long-term water quality benefits. Project activities will:
• Remove existing dock, including 27 creosote-treated piles
- Piles will be fully extracted, where possible
- Where full length extraction is not possible, piles will be removed to an approximate depth of 2 ft below the mudline
• Install 28 new piles of either fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) or concrete, 8 ft wide main walkways, 25 4 or 6 ft wide fingers, and a 32 ft wide landing apparatus section
• Reinstall salvaged materials, reconnect to existing utilities, install new electric equipment for energy efficiency
