Document Description
The Riverside County Department of Housing and Workforce Solutions (HWS) submitted an application DOE's EECBG Program for Energy Efficiency Retrofit Grants for Government Agencies and Nonprofit Organizations. On September 17, 2024, the application was awarded EECBG funding in an amount not to exceed $477,090, to be utilized on our former public housing sites to perform energy efficiency retrofits. Eligible uses under this category include, but are not limited to, energy efficiency retrofit measures, including weatherization, installation of efficient heating and cooling systems and appliances, cool roofs, and water efficiency measure; energy management systems, including grid-interactive equipment such as smart thermostats, battery storage systems, and building energy management systems and building electrification measures, including the installation of heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, residential or commercial cooking equipment, and associated wiring and panel upgrades. The EECBG Program Formula funds will assist multiple units from our former public housing sites. Awards would be prioritized to unites that require immediate retrofitting to improve energy efficiency (Project).

Find that the project does not constitute a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and Section 15061(b)(3) of the CEQA Guidelines in that it is covered by the general rule that CEQA applies only to projects which have the potential for causing a significant effect on the environment. There is no possibility that the Project may have a significant effect on the environment, the activity is not subject to CEQA.
