Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SON-51422-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Four Corners Farmland Fund Sonoma, LLC, as represented Jeff Hillberg.
The Project is limited to the restoration of an approximately 0.85-acre portion of riparian habitat along an unnamed tributary to Mark West Creek (stream) following unauthorized tree felling of approximately 30 Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus sp.) trees at the property of 2970 Woolsey Road and a related violation issued by Sonoma County. The Project’s objective is to restore native riparian vegetation and habitat to the site which before was predominantly occupied by non-native Eucalyptus trees, and is currently occupied by felled woody debris, wood chips, and nonnative invasive plant species including Himalayan blackberry (Rubus armeniacus). The Project will remove the woody debris from the Project site using hand tools, machinery, and a crane; and remove nonnative noxious and invasive vegetation. In addition, a riparian planting plan will be implemented including the planting of native trees, shrubs, and sedges/rushes, and a native seed mix throughout the Project site. Work will be limited to the riparian corridor and will not extend below top-of-bank of the stream except for the removal of downed segments of tree trunk within the creek channel using equipment positioned above top-of-bank.
