Document Description
The Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) would provide funding from the California Climate Investments Forest Health Program to The Napa Communities Firewise Foundation as part of Grant Agreement 8GG21611 to complete mechanical treatments on up to thirty-six (36) acres at the MacAllister Property within the boundaries of the Bagpipe Holdings non-industrial timber management plan (NTMP) as part of NTMP 1-11NTMP-008-NAP & Amendments. The project will utilize mastication thinning methods to extend an existing shaded fuel break and will aid in reducing the intensity of future wildland fires burning in the treated stands and will also allow firefighters to suppress the fire more easily and safely. This treatment will reduce wildfire risks to local resources and community members, promote native plant and wildlife species, and improve forest resiliency.
