Document Description
Santa Clara Valley Water District (Santa Clara) proposes to exchange up to 75,000 acre-feet of Santa Clara’s Central Valley Project (CVP) water supplies with State Water Project (SWP) water supplies. The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) will deliver up to 75,000 acre-feet of SWP water supplies to Santa Clara from Banks Pumping Plant to Santa Clara’s turnout(s) in Reach 9 of the South Bay Aqueduct. In exchange, the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Reclamation will make an equal amount of Santa Clara’s CVP water available to DWR at O’Neill Forebay. DWR will deliver the CVP water to SWP service areas south of O’Neill Forebay. This exchange is covered under the 2024-2025 Consolidated Place of Use Order, approved by the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) on July 22, 2024. The SWRCB’s approval is effective July 22, 2024 through July 21, 2025.
