Document Description
CDCR Division of Adult Paroles, will lease approximately 4,200 square foot office located in Ukiah, CA. The project will involve interior renovations and build out of an existing office including replacing ceiling tiles, electrical fixtures, paint, carpeting, flooring, and roll up shades. The project also includes upgrading to the security system security improvements including exterior, alarm keypads, and key card readers. This project is needed as the current location in Ukiah requires an exceptional amount of capital improvements in which the Lessor is no able to secure financing for and to provide a clean and safe working environment for staff and the visiting parolee population.

Reasons for Exemption
The project is categorically exempt from CEQA under the “Class 1” (14 CCR §15301) exemption per the CEQA Guidelines because the project involves negligible to no expansion of use. The project site is not in an environmentally sensitive area and none of the exceptions to this exemption are applicable. This is one of a class of projects that the Secretary for Resources has found do not have a significant effect on the environment, and therefore is declared to be categorically exempt from the requirement for preparing an environmental document.
