The purpose of this project is to apply micro-surfacing treatment over various roadways to increase the service life of these roadways throughout the city. New signage, striping and markings will be installed after the application of micro-surfacing treatment, to increase roadway safety. The project is intended to benefit all roadway users in the City of Avenal.

Pursuant to California Code of Regulations, Title 14 Section 15301 (c) exemptions apply to the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. This project is intended to extend the service life of the various existing roads with the application of micro-surfacing treatment and improve overall roadway safety with new striping, signage and markings. This project will not include the addition of road lanes nor expand vehicle capacity.
