Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed
Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification Number LAK-52013-R2, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Meagan Kenny. The project is limited to the hand control of approximately 12,800 square feet of understory vegetation at the confluence of Coyote Creek and Gallagher Creek. Primarily Cattails (Typha sp.) and willows (Salix sp.) will be controlled from the stream channel annually to restore normal flows to the creek and to help reduce the potential for fire. The project also consists of annual habitat enhancement activities along Coyote Creek and Gallagher Creek’s corridors through the targeted removal of invasive species including but not limited to Himalayan blackberry (Rubus armeniacus) and tree of heaven (Ailanthus altissima). Vegetation control and habitat enhancement activities will occur while Coyote and Gallagher Creeks are dry. Access to the site/staging area will occur along Hartmann Road.
