Document Description
The project is located in Fresno County, Tuolumne Street Overcrossing Bridge (#42 0171) crossing State Route (SR) 99 at Mile Post 20.92. An accident occurred on SR 99 southbound under the Tuolumne Street overcrossing within the third lane at approximately 50 miles per hour. The height of vehicle’s load exceeded 14 feet, causing the load to collide with the Tuolumne Street overcrossing. This accident has damaged the bridge, specifically to the girders, along with one excavator. The scope of this Director’s Order will include removing unsound concrete, removing enough concrete past the rebars tin order to expose enough of them to use mechanical couplers which need to be staggered and patch the spall on RC girders 7 and 8 in Span 1 with an approved structural material.
