Document Description
McHenry Avenue is a minor arterial and provides a direct connection between the City of Escalon and Stanislaus County. San Joaquin County completed a widening project in 2019 with a northern limit that was approximately 180' south of the Escalon City Limits. In September 2024, the City of Escalon performed a microsurfacing to the portion of McHenry Avenue located with their jurisdiction north of Jones Avenue. This recent City project had a southern limit approximately 55' south of the centerline Jones Avenue (east), leaving a 130' section remaining with significant pavement failures in the traveled lanes. These failures are characterized by significant alligator and longitudinal cracking in the road's wheel paths and fractured asphalt concrete (AC). Furthermore, noticeable voids have formed in certain areas posing a hazard to drivers. The project will consist of grinding the full width of the existing 32' wide roadway 0.25' deep, and replacing removed roadway and conforming with 0.25' HMA (Type A).
