Document Description
The Santa Barbara County Public Works Department proposes to do minor repair and maintenance activities in and near creeks, drainages and habitat areas subject to CDFW jurisdiction within the County of Santa Barbara. Proposed activities include removal of debris or obstructions in channels, culverts and under bridges, including trash, rubbish, and flood deposited material such as woody debris or herbaceous vegetation which reduces capacity or impedes storm flows. Items such as removal of silt, sand, rock or sediment which reduces flows in stream channels, culverts and box culverts. This includes the cleaning and reshaping within 100 feet of the facility, in dry channels only. Control of vegetation (under 4" dbh) in a facility that restricts normal flow under or through the facility. Minor repairs and replacement of existing drainage facilities in dry channels, including flap gates, aprons and water control structures to meet existing codes and standards. Replacement of existing culverts, rock rip rap with un-grouted rock rip rap within the existing footprint when the stream is dry. Maintenance, rehabilitation and replacement of culverts in dry stream beds associated with roadways for repair of energy dissipaters, head-walls, wing-walls, retaining walls and embankments of existing facilities. Additionally, work may include revegetation, bank stabilization, erosion control, and habitat enhancement.

The proposed project involves an activity related to the repair and maintenance activities for existing road facilities near creeks and creek banks.
