Document Description
The County of Sonoma proposes to fund the planned removal and treatment of 20 acres of invasive species, including defensible space around 15 homes or structures along Trinity, Henna and Wolf Run Roads. Reduction of highly flammable invasives will improve safety for residents while encouraging healthy ecological recovery in
areas impacted by previous fires. Work will be limited to acacia and broom removal within the defensible space of structures and up to 50' from the edge of project area roads.

The project is categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Sections, Section 15304 (i) Minor Alteration to Land - Fuel management activities within 30 to 100 feet of structures to reduce the volume of flammable vegetation, provided that the activities will not result in the taking of
endangered, rare, or threatened plant or animal species or significant erosion and sedimentation of surface waters. The understory fuel reduction is a minor alteration to land that involves fuel management activities within 30 to 100 feet of structures.
