On September 24, 2024, Downey City Council introduced an ordinance approving a zone change from O-S to C-P for the property located at 1 1531 Downey Avenue, adopted Resolution No. 24-8269 approving Site Plan Review, Conditional Use Permit, and Variance allowing the construction of a 18,718 sf YMCA Parks and Recreational Facility and 975 sf gymnasium addition, and adopted Resolution No. 24-8270 approving a Lot Merger for the consolidation of three separate parcels located at 11521 & 11531 Downey Avenue and 8268 Arnett Street.
