Document Description
Project proposes to replace the existing outdated welcome panels within Railtown 1897 State Historic Park to provide updated and more informative information for the visiting public. One (1) panel will replace an existing panel located at the lower parking lot entrance, and one (1) new panel will be installed adjacent to the Depot building near the flagpole. For each panel work will;
• Excavate two (2) 2.5-ft deep x 1-ft wide holes per site to install frame posts;
• Fill base of holes with gravel, install posts, and backfill around posts with
additional gravel; and
• Attach a wooden, red-painted 72-in. long x 40-in. high x ½-in. wide sign to the
posts

Project consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels; replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced; construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures, listed as “Construction or installation of park facilities, such as signs” in the Department of Parks and Recreation’s list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR §15300.4; and minor public or private alterations in the condition of land and/or vegetation which do not involve the removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees, except for forestry or agricultural purposes.
