Document Description
The City of Redding and the California Department of Transportation will construct a separated two-way bikeway (cycletrack) on State Route 273 from Yuba to Tehama Street and on California Street from Tehama to Division Street. Pavement striping will extend from Division Street to Eureka way. Work will include constructing curbs, curb ramps, asphalt concrete paving, intersection signal and lighting modifications, storm drain improvements, pavement markings, and sign installation. The public will be notified of any traffic restrictions.

Reasons for Exemption
Class 1 exemptions include the minor alteration of existing public structures and facilities. Class 2 exemptions consists of replacement or reconstruction where the new structure will be located on the same site and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity. The existing paved roadway shoulder will be reconstructed to accommodate bicycle traffic. The project will be located in the right of way and the project will result in a negligible expansion of use, as new vehicle lanes are not proposed. The action area does not have significant values for wildlife habitat or other environmental resources and the project has no potential to have a significant effect on the environment.
