Document Description
The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) approved the former Riverside Scrap Iron and Metal Property Response Plan. The Response Plan addressed the contaminated soil at the Site. The remedy consists of excavating approximately 21,500 cubic yards of soil impacted with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and metals, primarily lead and arsenic. In addition, measures would also be implemented that would preclude potential vapor intrusion at future site buildings. Soil removal would be conducted to a depth of approximately 1.0 feet below ground surface up to 2.5 feet. Approximately 41,520 cubic yards of soil is expected to be imported as clean fill soil.
