Document Description
The Department of Cannabis Control, pursuant to authority granted under Business and Profession Code, Division 10, Chapter 2, Section 26012, approved a commercial cannabis cultivation license. The Project would operate 10,000 square feet (sf) of mixed light mature cannabis cultivation established within five 2,000 square foot (SF) greenhouses. Cannabis support buildings and infrastructure include two propagation greenhouses (20x100ft & 20x60ft), a drying and harvest storage area (30x60ft), two shipping containers used for storage (8x40ft), a compost area (10x10ft), a large steel water tank, transfer tanks, and irrigation infrastructure area, a well house and well, and a bathhouse. The existing cultivation project is located on a 9.7-acre parcel in the unincorporated portion of Trinity County on a site zoned as Unclassified (UNC). Water for the Project would be provided from an onsite well. An onsite septic system would serve the Project’s domestic wastewater needs. Power for the Project site is provided through an existing connection to Trinity Public Utility District’s grid.

Reasons for Exemption
The Department of Cannabis Control has determined that the project is consistent with the local jurisdiction community plan and/or zoning designations. CEQA mandates that the project is consistent with the development density established by existing zoning, community plan, or general plan policies for which an EIR was certified and shall not require additional environmental review, except as might be necessary to examine whether there are project-specific significant effects which are peculiar to the project or its site. The project activity fits within the parameters included in CEQA Guidelines Section 15183 and the activity does not require additional CEQA analysis.
