The project consists of a right of entry agreement and post fire debris cleanup and disposal. Therefore, the project involves no expansion of the existing or former use. The Port has determined that none of the exceptions to the exemptions in the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Section 15300.2 foreclose the use of the categorical exemption CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 (Existing Facilities); therefore the Project is exempt from CEQA and no further environmental review is required.

Section 15330 Minor Actions to Prevent, Minimize, Stabilize, Mitigate or Eliminate the Release or Threat of Release of Hazardous Waste or Hazardous Substances (Class 30): The Class 30 Categorical Exemption consists of any minor cleanup actions taken to prevent, minimize, stabilize, mitigate, or eliminate the release or threat of release of a hazardous waste or substance which are small or medium removal actions costing $1 million or less. The project consists of a right of entry agreement and post fire debris cleanup and disposal. The work will consist of surface post fire debris cleanup of a guard shack, hydro jetting of impacted storm drain lines, and waste transportation and disposal. Therefore, the project involves preventing, minimizing, stabilizing, and eliminating the release or threat of release of hazardous waste or substances. The Port has determined that none of the exceptions to the exemptions in the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Section 15300.2 foreclose the use of the categorical exemption CEQA Guidelines Section 15330 (Minor Actions to Prevent, Minimize, Stabilize, Mitigate or Eliminate the Release or Threat of Release of Hazardous Waste or Hazardous Substances); therefore the Project is exempt from CEQA and no further environmental review is required.
