Document Description
The Ballico-Cressey School District (District) Cressey Elementary School Upgrade Project (project) is located along Crocker Avenue, between North 3rd Street and Cressey Way in Cressey, Merced County, California.
Cressey Elementary has a current school population of 168 students and 14 staff. The District developed plans to upgrade the existing school because the existing facilities are not Title IV complaint, nor does it meet requirements to appropriately teach Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten (TK/K) curriculum.
This project consists of adding one new pre-manufactured modular building to the school campus. The building consists of a total of four (4) classrooms, each containing a dedicated single accommodation student restroom, and a teacher's workroom. Support spaces include staff and student restroom, electrical, custodial, and storage rooms. The project also includes the addition of concrete paving for access to the building.
The purpose of the project is to bring Cressey Elementary into compliance with California Department of Education (CDE) Title IV regulations and provide new classrooms to create an atmosphere that will provide an enhanced learning and teaching experience and improved safety for staff and students. Construction of the project will result in an increase in capacity of up to 15 percent. Beneficiaries of the project include the students, faculty and staff, the District, the community, and the region.
