Document Description
The project aims to enhance habitat quality of the Least Tern Preserve at Huntington State Beach, an important breeding site for this endangered species. Work includes enhancement of existing vegetation through the addition of 4-5 additional native species and removal of non-native vegetation; fence improvements to deter predator perching; and the addition of sand to create dunes within the preserve to increase the resilience of the site to future sea level rise threats. Project work will occur outside of sensitive shorebird breeding season (March through August).
