Document Description
The District proposes to construct a new weight room at Valley View High School. The proposed project includes construction of Building H (new wight room) and proposed concrete paving surrounding Building H. Building H will contain a weight room, 2 classrooms, a kitchen, speed lines, offices, staff restroom, and drinking fountains. Various site upgrades are also proposed. The improvements from the proposed project will not result in an increase in student capacity or enrollment. All project improvements will occur on campus, and no off-site improvements will be included as part of the proposed project.

The proposed construction of the new weights room building (Building H) is exempt from CEQA under Class 14, Minor Additions to Schools (Section 15314). The new weight room building will be located within the school campus and will include the addition of two new classrooms; however, the proposed project will not increase student capacity. The new weight room will be located within the existing school campus and will improve the athletic facilities for student athletes. The new building will be located within the same campus and will not increase the school classrooms by more than ten; therefore, the project is exempt from CEQA under Section 15314.
