Document Description
Project proposes to remove and replace and improve a failing roadway cross-culvert at Mount Diablo State Park to keep the roadway safe for passage by park visitors and residents living nearby. Work will:
In the existing roadway, excavate an approximately 60 ft long x 18-in wide x 6 ft deep trench across the existing roadway and onto both road shoulders; Remove the existing 18-in culvert and install a new 18-in culvert; At the upstream outlet, form and pour a 6.5 ft tall concrete headwall, concrete wing walls, swale channelization and debris catcher; and At the downstream outlet, atop the existing terrain, install approximately 200 square feet of riprap to provide slope erosion protection.

Project consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels, included as “Utility repairs or minor upgrades” in the Department of Parks and Recreation’s list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR §15300.4; replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced; and consist of minor public or private alterations in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees.
